BENROMACH UNVEILED AS THREE TENS SERIES HEADLINE SPONSOR

The Benromach Three Tens Cross Country Mountain Bike Endurance Events

No Fuss Events, organisers of the 2008 Three Tens Series of cross country mountain biking endurance events held at Fort William, Kirroughtree and Fochabers, have today (Thursday 08 May 2008) unveiled Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky as headline sponsor for the 2008 Three Ten Series.

The first of the Benromach Three Tens Series events, 10 Under the Ben, the flagship of the series, will be held in Fort William – the UK's premier mountain bike destination – on Saturday 31 May. The Fort William event has already attracted in excess of 750 entrants travelling from all over the UK and many countries throughout the world, including New Zealand and Canada, to experience an awesome course on some fantastic trails within Forestry Commission Scotland's Leanachan Forest.  10 at Kirroughtree will take place in Galloway on Saturday 12 July and 10 More in Moray will round off the Benromach Three Tens Series in Fochabers on the Saturday 23 August.

The Three Tens Series has captured the imagination of the two-wheeled outdoor enthusiasts who have a responsible attitude to really good fun, as well as a balanced and environmentally sensitive lifestyle.  The Three Ten Series events involve individuals and teams, of various levels of ability, cycling a ten-mile circuit of exquisite mountain biking at each venue over a ten hour time period.  As well as commitment to the Three Ten Series, Benromach will provide spot prizes and the opportunity for participants to sample Benromach Traditional Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Located on the outskirts of Forres, Benromach is Speyside's smallest working distillery. Only two experienced distillers hand-craft Benromach using the finest Scottish barley and pure spring water from the nearby Romach Hills.  Specially selected casks are then filled with the 'new make' spirit before being left to mature at the distillery for many years.

Commenting on the sponsorship announcement, David Urquhart, Joint Managing Director of Gordon & MacPhail, proprietors of Benromach Distillery, said: 'Our sponsorship of the Three Tens Series will become an important part of strategy in raising awareness and building the Benromach brand.  Benromach is a brand targeted at the consumer who is adventurous, challenges the norm and seeks to share experiences with like minded people.  For these reasons we feel there are strong connections between the type of consumer taking part in the Three Tens Series events and the Benromach brand.'

Frazer Coupland of No Fuss Events, organisers of the Benromach Three Tens Series, said: 'We are really pleased that Benromach have come on board as title sponsor for the Three Tens Series. Benromach ties in with the No Fuss philosophy and in particular with that of the Three Tens series.  The events are all about recreational riders, elite racers, off road riders and weekend warriors participating in a sporting past time that we all love and share with loads of like minded people; and having a good time in a fun and relaxed environment.  What better way to relax and unwind…..'

Hello Again

This is just a quick monthly update, let you know what we have
been up to what we are planning and generally what's
happening at No Fuss.

I had hoped to give you a full run down on how Terry had performed
in New Zealand. Martin went over for the Moonshine Event and did
meet with Terry pre race. I have found out that Terry finished
17th overall, which was fantastic, I have not heard how the party
and celebrations went, and that would suggest that they are going
very well. I will give a wee report next month. Spook and I will
be joining Martin in Queenstown for the Mototapue Icebreaker on
the 8th of March. Chloe will be in charge at the No Fuss office,
feel free to get in touch with her over the next wee while.
Remember it could be you going to New Zealand in 2009.
All you have to do is participate in all of the 3 10s.
If you're not in you're out.

February and we were blessed again with the weather for the
wee triathlon, the event went really well and after three years
of running it; we now think we have figured out how to make it
easy on ourselves, the Wee Tri will be held again next February
entries are to limited to 60 so keep an eye out for the
entries opening.

In February we always have a day when we invite suppliers and
press to come and ride the 10 Under the Ben course, we buy the
breakfast and lunch and take everyone to the Mountain festival
at night. There were around thirty of us so that was a good crack.
Gary Fisher, Charlie Kelly and Billy Savage joined us.
How Cool is That??

February saw me (Frazer) take my second victory of the year.
In January I retired from a league race with a man flu and was
reported in the local paper as having won the kids race so I will
take it, next I beat 2007 Big Triathlon winner in a
penny-farthing race in the high street of Fort William as part
of the Mountain Festival.

Video of the race is in the video player here.

The locals have a go. Authentic dress optional.

10 Under the Ben is to be based at Nevis Range this year and the
pre race meal and registration is at the top gondola station and
is therefore the highest UK race registration to date  (I Think)
entries are going really well and Ruari Watt has identified some
new natural bits that we will include this year, so we are looking
for some trail building volunteers in April if you up for it drop
us a line via the website.

I am delighted to announce that For Goodness Shake and Ay Up
lights have both come aboard for Relentless 24, for Goodness Shake
also for the Big Ben Nevis triathlon.

April will see us hit the Press with Glen Nevis River Race, it's a
simple two and half miles down the river Nevis on a lilo if
that's to gnarly for you then the Endurance downhill might be
of interest. To be announced is the AGRO XC which will run as an
informal event in 2008, the idea being a mountain bike race that
is to tough for a xc bike to many climbs for DH bike, Gentlemen
(and ladies) please choose your weapon for the AGRO XC date tba.

Hope you are all well, get out on your bikes get fit and enjoy
and get your entries in, see you after the hols.

Cheers Frazer and all of us at No Fuss
